- Position Summary:

- Reporting to the Director of Adaptive and Integrated Learning, the SCS’ Experiential Empowerment & Development Program Administrator will play a key role in in the administration a wide range of activities that will support the educational programs and student support services.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and administer a process that will support a 5-year educational initiative funded by a philanthropic gift by Scotia Bank to service diverse and underrepresented students.-
- Plan and organize the phases of the initiative and set administrative procedures, systems, and timelines to ensure smooth delivery of administrative activities, including scheduling of courses by various units, issuance of contracts, tailored registration procedure, record-keeping procedure, and course evaluation processes.-
- Engage with student services and academic units to regarding student support services such as mentors, coaches and internships.-
- Monitor and keep track of the project’s activities are in line with the objectives as set in the McGill-Scotia Bank SEED agreement.-
- Establish and foster effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including, local and national community organization, student groups, scotia bank, and the consultative committee members to identify needs and provide support for the delivery for student support.-
- Participate at meetings with the various Consultative Committees including recruiting and reviewing membership, follow-up on concrete actions, and act as a communication channel between the Dean, SCS Directors and the consultative committees.-
- Work closely with academic advisors and student services to ensure administrative tasks are executed in a timely fashion to flag and resolve student registration issues.-
- Compile statistics and data for various reports.-
- Act as a resource person and provide a liaison function between students and the various academic and support services.-
- In collaboration with Adaptive and Integrated Learning Director, identify and organize cultural training workshops for staff and course lecturers involved in the SEED initiative.-
- Work closely with SCS’ Communication Office and participate in the implementation of communication focused on student outreach, website content, policies, guidelines and procedures to stakeholders.-
- Participate in budget planning, allocation and tracking.-
- Act as a resource person by communicating relevant course information, registration policies, and other departmental information to learners and stakeholder.-
- Use Excel to create, update and maintain databases containing student information, budgets, courses, and other relevant KPIs.-
- When appropriate responsible for the preparation and submission of Memorandum of Understanding partnership agreements.-
- Represents SCS at internal/external meetings, orientations, and recruitment activities related to SEED Initiative.-
- Ensure that the interests of SCS and McGill are represented at all levels of activities of the SEED Initiative and the activities are consistent with policies and procedures.-
- Participates on special projects, as needed.Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities- Experience in educational needs assessment and all aspects of educational program development and delivery.-
- Knowledge of student life and experience.-
- Experience presenting and facilitating presentations and articulating ideas and concepts verbally, visually and in writing.-
- Demonstrate a high level of diplomacy and tact.-
- Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties require English communication both verbally and in writing.-
- Experience collaborating and maintaining relationships with a myriad of stakeholders-both as individuals and as groups.-
- Knowledge of global and cultural issues faced by underrepresented groups within the workforce.-
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.-
- Excellent interpersonal, time-management skills and ability to work effectively with teams.-
- Experience in grant and report writing is an asset.-
- A self-motivated and outside-the-box thinker with an aptitude to work in a high-performance
