Administrative Support Coordinator

**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Under the general direction of the Manager, the position coordinates and supervises clerical support staff; provides clerical support for the Manager and back up support to the program(s); develops, implements and evaluates office systems and procedures; develops/maintains procedures and referral systems which support building and equipment repairs, safety and security.

- Ability to organize, priorize and self-direct program needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and public.
- Ability to work in partnership with all members of the team, in a team based environment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills, with proven ability to communicate effectively with staff, public and officials using tact and diplomacy.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and human relation skills.
- Ability to be creative, innovative and able to take risks.
