**THE OPPORTUNITY**
Bereskin & Parr is one of Canada's largest and most respected intellectual property ("IP") law firms. There is an immediate opportunity for a Trademark Practice Group Assistant on our team to work out of our Toronto office. This position provides assistance to the Trademark group.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Provides overflow support to professionals and staff in the Trademark Group.
- Proofreads documents for accuracy.
- Drafts and prepares correspondence for Professional approval.
- Opens and closes files.
- Reviews, reports and updates internal systems in connection with other trademark correspondence (including, but not limited to, approval notices, advertisements, confirmations of change of name/title, etc.).
- Conducts routine status checks with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.
- Other relevant duties as assigned by manager, Professionals, and staff.
**What you’ll bring to B&P**:
- Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate or Law Clerk Degree.
- Minimum one-year relevant working experience. Canadian trademark experience preferred.
- High interpersonal and team-oriented skills.
- Ability to work independently, problem solve and be resourceful.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Computer literate with strong working knowledge of Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with document management systems an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
