**Intellectual Property / Trademark Legal Assistant Job Description**:
**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Facilitates file opening and client intake process;
- Updates client billing information, including special billing instructions;
- Coordinates all month end billing, docket entry, generating and editing prebills, and preparing invoices for client distribution;
- Assists with the lawyers practice management, including calendar management, bring forwards, and ensuring deadlines are being addressed;
- Provides assistance to others during absences as needed; and
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Legal Assistant, experience with IP / trademark law, legal procedures, and protocols;
- Legal Administration and/or Law Clerk Diploma preferred;
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines and manage a high volume desk;
- Strong technical skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Calendar);
- Experience in AltLegal Trademark Docketing Software considered an asset;
- Familiarity with Aderant, or other legal accounting software;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Client-service oriented;
- Ability to work within a team environment and independently; and
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
