**Position**: Program Manager, Partnerships & Engagement, Canadian Pediatric Cancer Consortium

**Department**: Genetics and Genome Biology/Division of Hematology-Oncology

**Reports to**: Executive Director, CPCC

**Status**:1.0 FTE 1-year contract with potential for renewal

The Canadian Pediatric Cancer Consortium (CPCC) is a new initiative (lead institution SickKids) to build a national childhood cancer strategy that will change the way children’s cancers are researched and treated. The vision of the CPCC is that every Canadian child with cancer will have access to the latest scientific advances, diagnostic tools, therapy and supportive care leading to better outcomes and a better quality of life. The CPCC includes clinicians, researchers, survivors, patient advocates and other stakeholders from across Canada who have diverse experience and expertise.

We are currently seeking a Program Manager to join our team. In this role you will be a key member of the CPCC leadership team and will be responsible for a broad range of engagement and outreach activities with diverse stakeholders in the pediatric cancer community. The incumbent will need to balance multiple priorities and work collaboratively with stakeholders including, but not limited to, executives, senior leaders of institutions, organizations and initiatives across the country, clinicians, researchers, foundations, people with lived experience, and academic and industry partners.

Reporting to the Executive Director, and working closely with the Director, Strategy and Operations (Director, S&O), the Program Manager will contribute to the development of a partnership and engagement strategy for the CPCC, and manage the day-to-day activities required to support internal and external engagement with CPCC stakeholders. The Program Manager position requires a proactive and action-oriented individual with outstanding organizational, interpersonal, multi-tasking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

**KEY TASKS**:

- Responsible for contributing to, and executing on, a strategy for outreach, networking, and community building to support CPCC mission
- Works closely with the ED and Director, S&O as part of the CPCC senior leadership team
- Builds and maintains highly effective working relationships with multidisciplinary stakeholders in the pediatric cancer community across Canada and with the broader health clinical and research communities (i.e., national networks, regulatory bodies, government entities, funders, charities, patient advocacy groups, etc.)
- Identifies, establishes and manages connections to key international partners and consortia relevant to CPCC
- Holds membership and actively engages with groups that have a material impact on the success of the CPCC
- Coordinates/facilitates CIHR reporting and acts as a critical liaison in the funder relationship
- Manages engagement with CPCC membership (including persons with lived experience; PWLE) to understand and represent their needs
- Participates in governance meetings and has significant ongoing interaction with executive leadership and governing bodies of CPCC
- Participates in strategic planning and sustainability planning
- Communicate key issues on behalf of the organization to internal & external stakeholders via presentations, written reports and or scholarly publications
- Contributes to the establishment, measurement and reporting on metrics/ KPIs that will be used to monitor the success of CPCC
- Manages and supports CPCC training and mentorship activities in collaboration with other key stakeholders

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- MSc or PhD in a health
- or science-related discipline
- 5-10 years progressive managerial and leadership experience
- Very strong communicator and strategic thinker
- Established leadership skills; proven ability to lead through influence
- Strong relationship builder with experience working within complex multi-stakeholder networks
