**JOB OVERVIEW**

Under the direction of the Director, Cancer Prevention Programs, the Manager will lead the implementation and evaluation of the BETTER For All program.

BETTER For All seeks to reduce the risk of cancers and chronic diseases in newcomers to Canada and within racialized communities in the Greater Toronto area, through social supports for tobacco reduction and cessation, access to prevention practitioners, and trained volunteer peer health coaches to support the adoption of healthier behaviors and cancer screening.

The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) is partnering Women’s College Hospital’s Peter and Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services in the implementation of this four-year project.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours/week). The position can be based anywhere in Ontario.

**W**HAT YOU’LL BE DOING**:
**Lead the BETTER For All program through all facets of a project management life cycle including implementation, evaluation, and knowledge sharing**
- Lead program development, implementation, evaluation, and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with external advisory, implementation, and evaluation partners, and build and maintain relations with partners at senior levels.
- Maintain strong relations with project funder by providing regular updates and complying with meeting and reporting requirements.
- Support the Team Lead in their role supervising the work of team members and provide mentorship and coaching where applicable.
- Provide direction and guidance to the team in the recruitment, training, and support of community-based Peer Health Coaches.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and awareness on relevant cancer-related risk factors

**Lead overall program processes including tracking and compiling progress and outcome evaluation indicators, compiling reports, facilitating smooth program communications, financial monitoring, and relevant duties.**
- Monitor a complex, multi-year budget and ensure project spending remains within budget.
- Manage vendor selection, contract development, and invoicing.
- Monitor and lead project resource, process, and quality improvement activities.
- Collaborate with Managers across the Cancer Prevention Programs and Services department on department wide initiatives.
- Work with relevant CCS departments including finance, IT, and human resources in the planning, development, and implementation of program activities.
- Champion CCS as a hero in the face of cancer
- Represent and promote BETTER For All. Act as a media spokesperson as needed.
- Foster a working environment that highlights the talents and strengths of each team member, ensure that hiring practices are inclusive, and encourage growth and development opportunities for all team members.
- Actively contribute to our culture of justice, belonging, equity, diversity, and inclusion by ensuring that all staff feel represented and heard regardless of their gender, age, religion, ethnicity, and nationality or race.
- Work in compliance with the provisions of The Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, the Society’s Health & Safety Policy and organizational processes and standards.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Related post-secondary education in the field of health promotion, health sciences, community development or social work.
- 8+ years’ experience working in health promotion, health sciences, public health, primary care, or other relevant experience.
- Proven project/program management, collaboration, and organizational skills, with experience leading programs through all facets of the project management life cycle.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health promotion and behaviour change approaches and strategies related to cancer and/or other chronic disease prevention.
- Experience working with newcomer and/or racialized communities.
- Experience working in a public health, primary care, or community service settings.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the social determinants of health.
- Proven ability to monitor and manage complex multi-year budgets, and financial processes.
- Strong internal and external relationship management skills, ability to professionally interact with and establish solid working relationships with
