Summary

In charge of all aspects of the department, the Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for coordinating the restaurant and banquet activities in line with the hotel's activities. In general, this position is responsible for recruiting, training, supervising staff, creating schedules, inventories, purchasing and ensuring company standards are met. This person will work closely with the kitchen, the administration and front office to plan the requirements. As the business changes, the responsibilities of this position will change and evolve accordingly. The Food & Beverage Manager's mission is to maintain the smooth running of operations in the various departments: restaurant and banquets. He/she supervises and participates in all restaurant operations, as well as banquet and convention activities. They are responsible for enhancing the customer experience and providing assistance that exceeds our customers' expectations. They always projects a positive, professional leadership image with colleagues and guests.

Functions

Ensures that the operational and administrative needs of your sector run smoothly, with the aim of achieving the various performance indicators. Coaches - trains - encourages and motivates associates.

Ability to multi-task, changing priorities as needed in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Enforce procedures and service standards set by the facility on a daily basis;

Have a leadership mentality, lead by example and be present in operations.

Participate in the preparation of employee schedules;

Exceptional organizational skills

Open/transparent communication with all other departments

Participate in the creation of liquor menus

Take monthly point-of-sale inventories

Ensure cleanliness of sales outlets

Keep abreast of new trends and practices

Be fully conversant with all our products: food, spirits and wine;

Ensure compliance with health and safety policies when handling food and beverages (MAPAQ);

All other tasks required for the smooth running of the restaurant

Key skills

Previous
experience as a food and beverage manager in a hotel;

Previous
experience as a manager in a high-volume food and beverage establishment.

Experience
as a manager in a high-volume catering establishment

Ability
to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Good
knowledge of kitchen operations and food hygiene standards.

Ability
to interview, hire and train qualified staff.

Excellent
communication and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge
of point-of-sale systems (POS system) required.

Self-starter
and leader with a strong sense of initiative;
