Duties and Responsibilities:


The SERG/DPPE Graduate Administrator, is the sole administrative support staff for the SERG program and provides support to the Chair and the Associate Chair of GCSE, the MA Graduate Supervisor and the MASc/MEng Graduate Supervisor, as well as support to current and potential students, faculty, contract instructors, and potential co-op placement employers.

Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

  • Superior planning skills, including the ability to understand critical paths, set priorities, and meet timelines.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
  • High customer service ethic and expectation for quality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Effectiveness in working both in a team and independently.
Education and Experience:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

  • Completion of an undergraduate University degree.
  • Four years of relevant experience preferably in the field of post-secondary educational administration; equivalencies will be considered.
  • Experience in an academic unit, student advising, website maintenance, and social media would be considered assets.
