JOB PURPOSE:

This customer selling role provides the ideal candidate the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and energized work environment where both performance and personal development matter.

Reporting directly to the Commercial Sales Lead, this role plays a critical role in delivering the overall Customer Team’s financial and market goals. The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for driving the customer and brand strategy for a defined portfolio within two of our key customers; Rexall and McKesson Retail Banners (MRB), through multi-year planning or JBP (Joint Business Planning), high level of team-based collaboration, and exceptional execution of aligned plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the guidance of the Commercial Sales Lead, and in collaboration with their direct and Cross-functional Team:

Deliver the Business Goals

  • Deliver Gross Sales, Net Sales, Profit, Consumption and $Share growth objectives for Customer, by brand
  • Drive and align Haleon’s Strategic agenda with customer through effective multi-year Joint Business Planning (where applicable)
  • Prioritize and allocate investment budgets against key business drivers; optimize ROI-based trade spend
  • Achieve new product distribution objectives for assigned categories
  • Execute Haleon brand & Shopper-based in-store strategies with excellence (shelving, distribution, promotion, pricing)
  • Discipline and accountability for gross sales forecast accuracy, and GAP close initiatives
  • Ensure appropriate tracking & reporting tools & processes are in place to measure results against critical KPI goals
     

Develop the Customer Relationship

  • Develop exceptional customer relationships consistent with Haleon core values of trust and respect
  • Be the Haleon ambassador to drive customer brand advocacy and disproportionate support
  • Be viewed as the category and shopper expert and partner of choice for customer category key initiatives
  • Effectively network up and across the customer to ensure access to key decision makers
  • Set objectives to be #1 in customer service

Leverage the Team

  • Role model collaboration as a key success behavior to achieve brand, shopper, and customer goals
  • Collaborate with Digital Commerce team to evolve/develop omni presence with customer
  • Partner with Sales Strategy to ensure Customer needs are met and embedded in brand plans
  • Partner with Category Management, Shopper Marketing and Insights to drive a Shopper-centric customer agenda
  • Integrate Net Revenue Management guidance into promotion ROI and trade negotiation plans
  • Partner with Sales Finance Team to measure impact of investment options against P&L priorities
  • Partner with Retail Development to ensure perfect instore execution of agreed shopper and customer plans
  • Partner with Replenishment Analyst to set and achieve #1 in customer service and on shelf availability goals

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
 

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills – English
  • Bachelor’s degree completed
  • Valid driver license*
  • 2+ years direct selling experience, preferably with designated key account
  • 3+ years of retail account management and development experience
  • Deep market, category and account expertise
  • Strong management and relationship building capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to develop consultative/solutions selling to large/strategic retail accounts
  • Proven ability to work effectively on cross functional teams and coordinate cross functional requirements for account
  • Track record of driving results
  • Strong planning & time management skills
  • Strong analytical and presentation/story telling skills



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA or equivalent
