Service Operations Manager

Brandt Tractor Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Service Operations Manager to lead our Trochu Agriculture (John Deere) location. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the sales and delivery of heavy-duty equipment after-market support services, including component diagnostics, repair, and replacement. This role will involve managing all aspects of the service department and day-to-day activities of foremen, leadmen, service writers, and shop, field, and resident heavy-duty mechanics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service Workflow Management: Oversee the efficient management of service workflow to ensure timely and effective delivery of services to customers.
- Standardization and Compliance: Enforce standards, policies, and reporting practices to ensure compliance with established standards and best practices.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the Service Department budget to meet financial and operational goals, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost control.
- Customer Service: Prepare quotes for customer work orders, open and close work orders, and inspect/operate customer equipment as part of resolving concerns and diagnostics.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor service revenue and expenses monthly, ensuring alignment with business objectives and identifying areas for improvement.
- Safety and Quality: Ensure that all work is performed according to established safety and industry standards, maintaining a safe working environment for employees and customers.
- Team Leadership: Review employee performance against goals on an ongoing basis, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management to maintain a high-performance Service team.
Requirements:
- Effective Communication: Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, employees, and branch personnel at all levels.
- Self-Motivation and Continuous Learning: Self-motivated in learning and applying new knowledge and skills, with a willingness to share knowledge with others.
- Travel and Physical Demands: Ability to travel to customer worksites, and as required, operate and work on or around heavy equipment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using work-related desktop applications and web-based productivity applications.
- Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Confidence, critical thinking, knowledge, and technical skills to assess and solve customer, business, and personnel problems effectively and efficiently.
- Driver's Abstract: Recent driver's abstract will be required.
