About the Role

The Legislative Assembly Service of Saskatchewan is seeking an experienced Director to lead the Member Services division. This role is responsible for administering Member expense payments, assets, and payroll and benefit services for Members, Constituency Assistants, Statutory Offices, and the Legislative Assembly Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the expenditure of public funds complies with the directives and regulations of the Board of Internal Economy and applicable government policies.
  • Implement policies, procedures, and directives related to Member payments, assets, and payroll and benefits administration.
  • Oversee two units - Member Services and Payroll and Benefits - with 9 FTEs and a budget of approximately 1.9 million and a statutory budget of 16.7 million.
Requirements
  • Strategic and collaborative leadership with a deep understanding of public sector governance and financial management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building trusted relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Theoretical and specialized accounting knowledge, including accounting practices and principles, methodologies of sound financial management, and Canadian public sector auditing and accounting standards.
  • University degree in Administration or Commerce, with a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation being a valuable asset.
