At Core-Mark International, we're seeking a highly skilled Transaction Tax Manager to join our Richmond, B.C. based team.

About the Role

This is a full-time position with an estimated salary of $90,000 - 140,000 annually, offering a competitive compensation package and opportunities for growth and professional development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team and overseeing all aspects of Canadian and US transaction tax compliance, including tax research, tax compliance, tax audits, process improvements, and other department projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of accurate and timely preparation and filing of US and Canadian sales and excise tax returns
  • Reviewing and approving tax compliance working papers and account reconciliations
  • Engaging, mentoring, and training the team by building trust, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
  • Providing tax expertise and audit support to Core-Mark's US and Canadian warehouse personnel
  • Identifying and mitigating tax risks
  • Conducting tax research as required, and preparing technical memoranda where appropriate
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with warehouse and corporate personnel
  • Effectively communicating with internal staff, taxing authorities, and outside service providers on tax compliance matters
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Taxation with emphasis in taxation
  • Minimum of 6+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or Corporate tax department handling tax high volume compliance
  • Proven work experience leading a team as a Tax Manager or Tax Team Lead
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
