Human Resources Coordinator Specialist

Job Summary:
The Human Resources Coordinator Specialist will be responsible for coordinating recruitment and hiring functions, supporting health and safety programs, maintaining human resources databases and files, and providing administrative assistance to the team.
About the Role:
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, advertising, screening, phone interviews, scheduling, conducting reference checks, presenting job offers, and onboarding.
- Ensure timely completion of accident/injury reporting to WSIB and support return-to-work procedures.
- Participate in JHSC meetings and attend workplace inspections as required.
- Maintain and update HR files and records according to relevant legislation and the organization's policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with payroll on new hire administrations, terminations, and providing payroll records/changes in accordance with bi-weekly pay cycles.
- Maintain and update HRIS and training systems.
- Support HR projects/initiatives as required.
- Promote employee recognition and retention through staff events and recognition programs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- University degree or college diploma in Human Resources Management.
- 1-3 years of work experience in Human Resources.
- Familiarity with employment legislation and regulations (ESA, OHSA, Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA, etc.).
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and HR software.
- Experience with HRIS is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Able to deal with sensitive HR issues with discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese are a definite asset.
