Human Resources Coordinator and Business Partner

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Coordinator and Business Partner to join our team at Mon Sheong. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the recruitment and hiring functions, supporting health and safety programs, maintaining human resources databases and files, and providing administrative assistance to all members of the team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead the full cycle recruitment process, including preparing job postings, advertising, screening, phone interviews, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, presenting job offers, and onboarding new employees.
- Ensure timely completion of all accident/injury reporting to WSIB and support return-to-work procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and attend workplace inspections as required to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Maintain and ensure all Human Resources files and records are up-to-date, accurate, and compliant with relevant legislation and Foundation policies and procedures.
- Collaborate closely with the Payroll department to administer new hire processes, terminations, and provide payroll records and changes in accordance with bi-weekly pay cycles.
- Update and maintain HRIS and training systems to ensure efficient data management and employee development.
- Support various HR projects and initiatives as required, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Promote employee recognition and retention by assisting with annual staff events and recognition programs, fostering a culture of appreciation and respect.
Qualifications:
- University degree or college diploma or post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management.
- 1-3 years of work experience in Human Resources, preferably in a similar role.
- A solid understanding of employment legislation and regulations, including ESA, OHSA, Ontario Human Rights Code, and AODA.
- Experience with HRIS is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive HR issues.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese are definite assets.
Estimated Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
