About the Role

Champion Petfoods is seeking a highly skilled Finance Project Analyst to join our team. As a key player in our rapidly growing company, you will be responsible for supporting multiple complex projects that drive process improvements across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather functional and business requirements and propose appropriate process or technical solutions.
  • Participate in and drive continuous improvement projects, executing or liaising on end-to-end steps to create business improvements.
  • Support the Finance Transformation Manager to meet project deadlines and meet established departmental and corporate requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controls, implementing best practices to optimize the Finance function across the business.
  • Analyze data to support process design and improvement.
  • Perform end-to-end testing on functional improvements and business process changes prior to go-live.
  • Assist with process change requirements, such as SOP creation and modification, updating finance tracking and reporting, and maintaining action plans.
  • Participate in a variety of diverse accounting and reporting activities in support of business activities.
  • Coordinate meetings with team members across the business.
  • Ensure compliance with Finance policies and procedures, and internal controls.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in accounting, financial management, or project management, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills, with accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in business analysis, business transformation, organizational effectiveness, and business process improvement.
  • Advanced data organization and Excel skills, with the ability to analyze large sets of data and translate results into meaningful information to support business decisions.
  • Experience with an ERP system deployment and implementation of finance back-office solutions.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls.
  • Experience in project management and delivering an end-to-end product.
  • Strong analytical skills through experience working on complex transactions.
  • Self-directed, with demonstrated integrity and professionalism, with the ability to work successfully both independently and within a team environment.
