Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Senior Financial Analyst in delivering comprehensive accounting and financial analysis services to the Advancement department.
  2. Ensure the precision and completeness of data transitioned from the fundraising platform to the financial system, while preparing account reconciliations and addressing discrepancies.
  3. Manage the preparation and posting of journal entries associated with donations, grants, and external funding sources.
  4. Monitor donations and grants within the financial system, ensuring adherence to donor specifications and reporting obligations.
  5. Compile necessary monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, aiding in data retrieval for auditing purposes.
  6. Effectively communicate financial insights regarding donations to various stakeholders within the organization.
  7. Maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulations, and institutional policies.
  8. Support the financial administration of the NAIT Foundation, a key fundraising entity.
  9. Engage in ongoing process evaluations and enhancements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. Solid foundation in accounting principles, particularly in relation to Canada Revenue Agency guidelines and Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS).
  2. Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.
  3. Detail-oriented self-starter with strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  4. Effective communication skills to interact with diverse members of the organization.
  5. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, with a preference for experience in pivot tables and advanced functions.
  6. Familiarity with various software applications, particularly PeopleSoft Finance, Microsoft 365, and Salesforce.
Educational Background
  1. Completion of a 2-year Accounting Diploma.
  2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an intermediate accounting role post-diploma is essential.
  3. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in public sector or educational settings.
  4. International educational credentials should be evaluated by recognized assessment services.
Compensation Package

The annual salary ranges from $57,932.94 to $73,528.00, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package.
