Project Financial Analyst

Primary Function

The Project Financial Analyst at Pathfind plays a crucial role in analyzing business unit or project financial activities and results, and supervising as required, Finance Team members. This position reports to the Finance Manager - West.

Remuneration

$80,000 to $95,000 depending upon experience.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and understanding of sales agreements and contracts.
  • Ensure jobs are properly set up, maintained, and closed upon completion.
  • Signing off on job set-ups, budgets, rate tables, change management documents, and job closes.
  • Client cost reporting.
  • Month-end review, adjustments, accruals, and revenue recognition.
  • Maintaining work files.
  • Setting up and maintaining Job Rate Table(s).
  • Ad hoc reporting requirements as necessary.
  • Support OC Manager, Project Manager, and Sr. Project Accountant as required.
  • Analyzing Over/Under and SG&A accounts.
  • Analyzing job margins.
  • Variance reporting.
  • Providing cost analysis and reports to measure actual to planned job progress for forecasting.
  • Provide accounting support.
  • Other duties as required.

Education/Training Requirements

  • 5-7 years relevant work experience.
  • Post-secondary diploma or certification from an accredited college or technical/business school.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Proven proficiency within an accounting or finance function within an industrial contracting company.
  • Professional accounting experience including job costing, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Previous experience with construction, and/or manufacturing industries would be a definite asset.
  • Previous experience preparing financial statements would be an asset.
