Business Development Sales Representative for General Mills

About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Sales Representative to join our team at Encore Market Engagement. As a key member of our sales force, you will be responsible for driving sales within an assigned geographical territory for General Mills and Blue Buffalo.

Blue Buffalo Pet Foods, a part of the General Mills family, offers healthy pet food options with a core belief of treating pets like family. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work with two well-established brands and contribute to their growth.
Job Responsibilities: As a Business Development Sales Representative, your primary objectives will be to:
- Represent General Mills and Blue Buffalo in a professional manner by providing exceptional retail customer service
- Work closely with your Manager to set territory goals based on company objectives and develop strategies to meet and exceed targets
- Develop strong customer relationships to become a trusted advisor and drive business growth
- Leverage selling skills to solicit orders, introduce new products, and promote events
- Closing distribution gaps by confirming accurate shelf tags and ensuring supply availability through merchandising
- Negotiate space for and build Gold Standard displays to maximize points of interruption
- Utilize sales tools to identify opportunities, determine action plans, and drive sales improvements
Requirements: To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in territory sales and merchandising within the CPG industry
- Superior communication and presentation skills
- Bilingual (French/English) language proficiency
- Strong relationship-building and selling skills
- Ability to influence and lead change, with a positive attitude and excellent problem-solving skills
- Aptitude for fast learning, strategic planning, and self-management in a fast-paced environment
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure is based on industry standards and takes into account the level of responsibility, required skills, and location.
