We are seeking a skilled Sales Associate to join our team in Ottawa. This is a part-time role with 24 hours of work per week.


Job Description:


In this role, you will identify business development opportunities and drive sales within an assigned geographical territory. You will represent General Mills and Blue Buffalo in a professional manner by providing retail customers with the best service, introducing new products and promotional events into the market, leveraging selling skills to solicit orders for account bookings and allocation, and more.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Identify business development opportunities to drive sales within an assigned geographical territory.
  • Represent General Mills and Blue Buffalo in a professional manner by providing retail customers with the best service.
  • Introduce new products and promotional events into the market.
  • Leverage selling skills to solicit orders for account bookings and allocation.
  • Closing distribution gaps by confirming correct shelf tags are present in compliance with account listing & store planograms.
  • Ensure supply availability through merchandising product and checking order / inventory status.
  • Negotiate space for and build Gold Standard displays to maximize points of interruption as well as confirming and correcting previously agreed display implementations.
  • Use sales tools provided to identify opportunities & gaps and determine action plan to drive sales, improve distribution, recognize underperforming categories, and increase overall profitability in your territory.
  • Recognize and utilize regional sales trends in order to maximize in-store performance.
  • Provide feedback and insight on retail conditions and/or issues as they are encountered.

Requirements:



  • 1-3 years of territory sales and merchandising experience in CPG.
  • Bilingual (French/English).
  • Amazing relationship building skills.
  • Aptitude for fast learning, careful strategic planning and ability to self-support with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to store some supplies at home and transport them in your vehicle.
  • Some overnight travel may be required in remote areas.

What We Offer:


We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
