Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is between $45.48 and $65.38 per hour, based on the job description and location. As an employee of Vancouver Coastal Health, you will be eligible for a comprehensive health benefits package, including MSP, extended health and dental, and municipal pension plan.
About the Job
We are seeking a Strategic Lead & Facilitator, Indigenous Cultural Safety to join our team. This role requires a Master's degree in Adult Learning or a related discipline, and at least three years of experience in coaching, mentoring, training, conflict resolution, and provision of facilitation of Indigenous cultural competency curriculum and training.
The successful candidate will lead the development of a Vancouver Coastal Health-wide education plan, provide consultation and direction to address specific cultural safety issues, collaborate with colleagues to ensure appropriate staff development and participation in education and cultural safety initiatives, and work collaboratively with the Indigenous Health Program and other stakeholders to lead the organization in meeting its goal of enhancing Indigenous people's access to VCH services.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Adult Learning or a related discipline
- At least three years of experience in coaching, mentoring, training, conflict resolution, and provision of facilitation of Indigenous cultural competency curriculum and training
- Minimum of five years working for an Indigenous organization/program that includes interacting and developing relationships with First Nations, Metis and Inuit people and Indigenous communities as well as government agencies and ministries
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of Indigenous culture and specifically Vancouver Coastal Health region's First Nation's cultures
- Valid BC Driver's license as local area travel requires the use of a personal vehicle
- Pursuant to Section 41 of the British Columbia Human Rights Code, preference will be given to individuals of Indigenous identity (First Nations, Inuit, Metis)
