About the Role

As a People and Culture Intern, you will report directly to Skeena's VP, People and Culture, and play a pivotal role in assisting the department with day-to-day operations and various HR functions.

  • You will support the planning and execution of recruitment campaigns, conferences, job fairs, and community events to showcase Skeena Resources and expand our reach to top talent.
  • Coordinate activities to increase sourcing opportunities through outreach, social media, partnerships, and community relationships.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS), UKG.
  • Post new roles on Skeena's career page and partner recruitment websites.
Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will provide general administrative support and data entry assistance to the People and Culture team as required, including filing, data entry, and report preparation.

  • You will maintain employee records and HR databases with precision and confidentiality.
  • Update and maintain HR documents on SharePoint.
  • Conduct research on HR initiatives and project plans.
  • Streamline administrative processes to improve efficiency.
  • Support internal workflows between the HR, Payroll, and Camp Admin team at the mine site to enhance the employee experience.
  • Assist in developing training materials and resources for employee development.
  • Schedule and coordinate training sessions for employees and managers.
  • Participate in the Vancouver Office Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Support initiatives aimed at fostering a positive workplace culture at Skeena.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a recognized or accredited post-secondary institution, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
What We Offer

This is an office-based position, located in Skeena's Corporate office in Vancouver, British Columbia, on a Monday to Friday schedule. The fixed-term contract for this internship will run from January through April 2025.

Priority hiring consideration will be given to Indigenous Nations members who reside within the territories our projects are located.

The estimated salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
