About Our Opportunity

The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Executive House Manager at Government House.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the public and private areas of Government House. This includes cleaning the Administrative Office, public washrooms, vacuuming, laundry, ironing, dusting, washing of floors and dishes, polishing of silver/bronze, and general cleaning as required.

You will oversee, schedule, and direct the Housekeeper, Household Attendant, and casual serving staff. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the Government House inventory and reporting any loss or damage to the Private Secretary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of event preparation and cleanup
  • Maintenance of staff and storage areas
  • Dining room table setup and public rooms preparation
  • Safekeeping of Government House items
  • Reporting of losses or damages
  • Adherence to recycling and composting policies

You will treat other members of the Government House staff and visitors with respect, courtesy, and professionalism, representing the Office of the Lieutenant Governor with dignity and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications and Experience:

A high school graduate with two years of experience in a related field is required. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to prioritize work, manage resources efficiently, and maintain confidentiality.

Estimated Salary Range: $54,532 - $69,479 Bi-Weekly
