Cape Breton University is seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to join its Events Team as an Event Assistant. This is a full-time continuing position that plays a critical role in the success of institutional events.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Strategic Communications Team, working closely with Event Specialists to ensure the smooth execution of events. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative support for event planning and coordination
  • Assisting with event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and audio-visual requirements
  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a positive brand experience
  • Contributing to the development of event concepts and proposals

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A strong understanding of event planning principles and practices is essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

This position is unionized with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 3131, and the salary level is Band 5.
