The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the Director of Nutrition & Food Services (NFS) by effectively coordinating the day-to-day operation of the Director's office.
The position coordinates all administrative activities, establishes administrative procedures and guidelines, and acts as a liaison with the administrative assistants within the portfolio and across the health authority.
This position provides additional support to individuals, committees, or working groups as assigned, as well as supports other members of the NFS Team as required.
This position works closely with the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Director, NFS.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced administrative professional to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health.
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary diploma in a recognized office administration, business administration, or secretarial program and a minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience providing administrative support and office coordination at the executive level.
The candidate will possess excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritizing, and organizational skills, as well as demonstrated competencies requiring advanced skills and abilities in all facets of modern office practices and technology.
The candidate will also have experience utilizing technology in meeting planning to create efficiencies and streamline tracking and retrieval of information.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Director of Nutrition & Food Services (NFS)
- Coordinate all administrative activities, including establishing administrative procedures and guidelines

Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health offer a competitive salary range of $21.08 - $26.35 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
