The Nova Scotia Health Authority seeks an experienced Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Director(s) by effectively coordinating the day-to-day operation of the Director's office. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all administrative activities, establishing administrative procedures and guidelines, and acting as a liaison with the executive assistants and administrative assistants within the portfolio and across the health authority.

This role provides support to assigned networks, individuals, committees, or working groups, as well as supports other members of policy and planning. The Administrative Assistant will work closely with the Executive Assistant to the VP, Quality and System Performance, Corporate/Zone Executive Assistants, and Administrative Assistant to the other Networks.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary diploma in a recognized office administration, business administration, or secretarial program, and a minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience providing administrative support and office coordination at the executive level, preferably within healthcare and within an integrated service model provided throughout several locations with multiple partners and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritizing, and organizational skills, as well as demonstrated competencies requiring advanced skills and abilities in all facets of modern office practices and technology, including information and meeting technologies.

This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly.

The successful candidate may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

The hourly rate for this position is $29.73.

  • Post-Secondary diploma in a recognized office administration, business administration, or secretarial program
  • Undergraduate degree is an asset
  • International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) certification is an asset
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience providing administrative support and office coordination at the executive level, preferably within healthcare and within an integrated service model provided throughout several locations with multiple partners and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritizing, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated competencies requiring advanced skills and abilities in all facets of modern office practices and technology, including information and meeting technologies
  • Experience utilizing technology in meeting planning to create efficiencies and streamline tracking and retrieval of information
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
