Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Project Coordinator to become a vital part of our team. The selected candidate will take charge of overseeing fire alarm installation and panel projects across various sectors including commercial, educational, healthcare, and industrial facilities. This role requires a professional who can effectively represent our organization in all interactions with clients and architects/engineers.

Key Responsibilities

The Engineering Project Coordinator will:

  • Manage and communicate project progress from start to finish, encompassing design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation.
  • Play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of projects while managing all aspects including scope, budget, schedule, finance, risk, quality, and resources.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure effective project execution.
  • Outline project tasks, monitor progress, and provide regular updates to the team and management regarding project status, including risks, concerns, milestones, and proposed solutions.
  • Communicate any changes that may impact the project.
  • Conduct cost analysis and monitor project expenses.
  • Prepare and review essential project documents such as Marketing Requirements, Product Design Specifications, Statements of Work, Test Plans, and Reports.
  • Foster collaboration among various project stakeholders, promoting a positive team environment and implementing agile methodologies.
  • Successfully manage multiple diverse assignments or projects while ensuring smooth operations.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in technical project management with a proven history of delivering successful projects.
  • Expertise in hardware, firmware, and software engineering, mechanical and industrial design, validation, and quality assurance, along with familiarity with UL/FM/FCC certifications.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with peers and senior leadership, as well as strong interpersonal and presentation abilities.
  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently, with a quick and efficient response to changes.
  • A high-energy, flexible, detail-oriented, and adaptable approach in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile development methodologies, particularly in hardware applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Experience in the fire and alarm industry is advantageous.
  • PMP or Scrum Certification is a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is also beneficial.
