Job Title: Manufacturing Operations Manager
Pilkington is seeking a seasoned Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee the production of glass products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the manufacturing plant, adhering to safety regulations, and optimizing production processes to meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to company standards and values, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate production activities to meet customer requirements, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality products.
- Set and monitor production, quality, and cost goals, providing regular progress reports to management.
- Develop and implement new production methods and processes to increase profits and improve competitiveness.
- Administer financial support functions for operations, including budgeting and cost control.
- Coordinate maintenance of plant and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
- Plan and recommend operating budgets for cost control, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
- Maintain effective labor relations, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
- Select, train, and develop a competent workforce, ensuring the right skills and expertise are in place to meet business needs.
- Review and direct manufacturing activities, providing guidance and support to production teams.
- Participate in line rebuild projects, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Liaise with other plants regarding manufacturing operations, sharing best practices and expertise to drive business growth.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of middle/senior management experience in manufacturing, with a proven track record of success.
- Leadership and emotional intelligence capabilities, with a strong ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills, with a focus on driving business growth and improvement.
- Experience in staff development, production scheduling, and inventory management, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operations.
- Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements, with the ability to analyze and interpret data to inform business decisions.
Desirable Qualifications:
- MBA or Master's degree in a Manufacturing discipline.
- Experience in the Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive supplier industry.
- Six Sigma Blackbelt certification, with a strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
