Quality Assurance Manager Job Description
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing and implementing quality assurance and improvement programs in an automotive manufacturing facility. They work closely with customers, corporate personnel, and plant personnel to ensure that product quality is a top priority. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, at least 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, and strong knowledge of quality tools such as APQP, FMEA, and PPAP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop quality assurance and improvement programs to enhance product quality and reduce defects
- Audit production processes and employee performances to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Resolve quality issues and complaints in a timely and effective manner
- Manage supplier quality to ensure that all suppliers meet Pilkington's quality requirements
- Support the Quality Circle process to encourage employee involvement in quality improvement
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards and other relevant quality regulations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years related experience in automotive manufacturing
- Internal Auditor experience/certification
- Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous experience in glass or plastic injection molding
- Leadership/supervisory experience
The Quality Assurance Manager will have authority and responsibility for quality for this position, as defined in the Quality Manual/local documentation.
