We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Plant Manager II to lead our glass manufacturing operations at Pilkington. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the production of glass products to meet customer requirements while reducing costs, improving yields, and increasing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles.
- Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring all safety rules, policies, and procedures are met.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve production methods, processes, and equipment to increase profits and yields.
- Administer financial support functions to ensure operations are maintained at appropriate levels.
- Coordinate service elements to provide effective maintenance of Plant and equipment.
- Plan, develop, and recommend operating budgets to guide cost control, capital planning, and expenses.
- Maintain effective labour relations to assure continuous production and resolve union grievances fairly.
- Select, train, and develop a competent organization to maintain an efficient and effective operation.
- Review schedules and direct all manufacturing activities to meet requirements and specifications.
- Participate in scheduled float line rebuilds and review suggestions for improved designs.
- Compile and present a monthly progress report for evaluating Plant and glassmaking activities.
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering discipline, or related field.
- Experience:
- Flat glass industry experience.
- A minimum of 10 years middle/senior management manufacturing experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and emotional intelligence capabilities.
- Innovative and strategic thinker.
- Demonstrated abilities in developing Plant Staff, production scheduling, inventory management, and manufacturing processes.
- Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
- Education: MBA or Master's degree in a Manufacturing discipline.
- Experience: Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive supplier experience.
- Six Sigma Blackbelt certification.
