Position Overview:

The University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) is seeking a dedicated professional to join the Experiential Education Unit (EEU) as a Co-op Internship Coordinator. This role is pivotal in enhancing the undergraduate educational experience by facilitating unique learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective employers to identify work-integrated learning opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of industry trends to inform program development.
  • Facilitate outreach initiatives to connect students with potential employers.
  • Organize and participate in events that engage students, faculty, and employers.
  • Promote the Co-op Internship Program through various channels to increase visibility and engagement.
  • Provide guidance to students regarding university policies, career development, and job search strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and assist in achieving program milestones.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate student placements and provide feedback.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in a student support role within an experiential learning context.
  • Strong understanding of career coaching, job search strategies, and best practices in student advising.
  • Experience in building and sustaining employer partnerships.
  • Proficiency in using various eLearning tools and learning management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent UTM positively.
