Position Overview

CIMCO is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Shop Supervisor to join our team at our production facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a diverse team of over 30 skilled tradespeople, including welders, fitters, and electrical technicians within the manufacturing environment.
  • Track work progress and quality to ensure timely completion of projects in accordance with specifications.
  • Establish and support production timelines for various phases of manufacturing and organize schedules accordingly.
  • Ensure the shop meets its commitments and responsibilities to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with fitters and welders to resolve and troubleshoot welding challenges.
  • Provide direction and training to staff on safety protocols and equipment usage.
  • Assist the business in decision-making related to project quotations and bids.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials utilized, and any safety incidents or violations.
  • Facilitate the recruitment and training of new team members.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with pipe and vessel fabrication is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with TSSA regulations is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role, such as foreman or shop manager.
  • Strong ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team of employees.
  • Capability to provide hands-on training and guidance.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, decision-making, planning, and organizing tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including both verbal and written communication.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Competent computer skills.
  • Understanding of working in a unionized setting.
