Our unique sandwiches are crafted with freshly sliced meats prepared in-house daily, and our steaming technique elevates the flavors of our premium meats and cheeses. With generous portions and irresistible combinations, our subs offer a distinctive taste experience.

The Restaurant General Manager plays a pivotal role in supervising a team across all facets of restaurant operations. This individual will mentor, guide, and inspire the restaurant team, consistently driving them to deliver the highest standards of customer service while ensuring operational efficiency.

This position requires a hospitality expert who prioritizes a guest-centric approach. The Restaurant General Manager will oversee Assistant Managers, Shift Leaders, and Team Members, ensuring adherence to operational standards and delivering a remarkable experience for our guests.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the restaurant team to consistently uphold superior standards of guest service, quality, and cleanliness while fostering a cheerful and enjoyable work atmosphere that aligns with Firehouse Subs' culture and values.
  • Manage staffing schedules and labor costs to ensure optimal restaurant operations.
  • Oversee inventory management and food cost control, ensuring product availability and proper storage practices.
  • Delegate daily tasks to team members, ensuring timely completion of preparations and setting the restaurant up for success.
  • Drive profitability by adhering to established guidelines for food costs, labor, utilities, and sales growth.
  • Assess and evaluate performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Develop and implement strategies for continuous service enhancement.
  • Ensure compliance with operational and occupational health and safety standards.
  • Address guest concerns and complaints in a constructive and positive manner.
  • Coordinate and execute current operational strategies and company initiatives effectively.
  • Be accountable for the ongoing training and development of the Assistant Manager, Shift Leaders, and Team Members.
  • Engage in Local Restaurant Marketing initiatives within the community.
  • Promote all Public Safety Foundation initiatives.
  • Communicate any business-impacting issues effectively to the Director of Operations.
  • Maintain restaurant equipment in optimal working condition and report issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to cleaning protocols and overall restaurant cleanliness.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in restaurant management or a supervisory role within a restaurant setting.
  • Possess a positive attitude and a commitment to managing the team and serving customers with enthusiasm.
  • Ability to recruit, train, and motivate a high-performing team.
  • Proficient in managing food and labor costs.
  • Understand Profit and Loss Statements and operate the restaurant for maximum profitability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to direct, coach, and supervise a team.
  • A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to perform effectively during peak periods of high volume.
  • Flexibility to work various hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • This role requires a commitment of 40 to 44 hours per week or as needed for business demands.
  • A valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle are necessary.
