About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Dining Room Coordinator at Shannex Incorporated. As a key member of our Food Services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our residents while ensuring a safe and healthy dining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in the coordination of dining room staff activities to ensure professional service delivery to residents on a daily basis and for special events;
- Assist with resource management, such as recruitment, orientation, training, and coaching;
- Perform all duties of the Server position;
- Support the development of a quality culture by having a continuous quality improvement philosophy;
- Assist in the provision of catering services for internal and external events and special functions;
- Coordinates all meal/beverage charges and proper billing;
- Organize and maintain the process for client menus, diet slips and count sheets;
- Working with the food services team to promote communication and compliance to policies, procedures and applicable legislation;
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with residents and their families in order to determine individual needs, resolve issues or concerns, and evaluate resident satisfaction;
- Maintaining safety and sanitation in the dining areas to meet legislative / organizational standards;
- Performs all other duties as required.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who possesses a high-school diploma or GED, basic food safety training or food handler's certificate, and a minimum of 1-2 years' experience in the food & beverage service industry. Previous experience working with the elderly in long-term care or a seniors independent living environment is an asset. You should also have previous supervisory experience and be able to provide a clear criminal record check upon hire.
