The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Background Eligibility Unit (BEU), and Electronic Fingerprinting Team is looking for qualified candidates for the position of Compliance Oversight Manager I.

This role involves overseeing regulatory review and enforcement programs across various domains. It includes assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures pertinent to the assigned area.

The Compliance Oversight Manager I is tasked with managing the operations of the Background Eligibility Unit (BEU) and Electronic Fingerprinting Team, as well as Criminal Justice Information Specialist (CJIS) I and II.

Key responsibilities encompass ensuring quality assurance, interpreting reports to uphold federal compliance, and addressing system-related challenges in partnership with vendors.

Lead, mentor, and supervise the Background Eligibility Unit (BEU) and Electronic Fingerprinting Team, ensuring peak performance and compliance with departmental and organizational standards.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, directing, training, and evaluating the performance of the Background Eligibility Unit (BEU) and Electronic Fingerprint Technicians CJIS Specialists.


Quality Assurance and Reporting:

Conduct regular quality assurance assessments of background investigations to guarantee accuracy, thoroughness, and adherence to established standards.

Ensure that quality and productivity benchmarks are consistently achieved, reviewing staff reports for content, accuracy, completeness, and clarity.

Prepare various reports detailing unit activities and performance metrics.

Conduct periodic audits of terminal operations to ensure compliance and efficiency.



Compliance and Coordination:

Analyze operational procedures, data, and other pertinent information to enhance the efficiency of work processes.

Facilitate interactions between the department, agency, facility operating units, other programs, and external customers as necessary.

Oversee the reconciliation of monthly billing and invoices to ensure timely processing for payment.

Manage the change requests process, ensuring all modifications are documented, tested, and implemented effectively.

Collaborate closely with vendors to ensure system functionality aligns with business needs and requirements.

Stay informed about technological advancements in electronic fingerprinting and background investigations, recommending system upgrades or changes as needed.

Perform any additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned by the Unit Director or Business Operations Manager II, Regulatory Compliance.

Engage in cross-functional projects or initiatives to support the broader objectives of the DHS Office of Inspector General.

A Master's degree in a related field from an accredited institution AND one year of relevant supervisory experience in the area of assignment is required.

OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution AND two years of relevant supervisory experience in the area of assignment.

A minimum of four years' experience in electronic fingerprinting, background investigations, or a related field is essential.

Familiarity with federal regulations governing background investigations is necessary.

Proficiency in utilizing background investigation systems and software is required.
