Position Overview:

As a Health and Safety Specialist at EM Dynamics, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in the essential aspects of health and safety management, focusing on risk evaluation, incident analysis, and the development of safety initiatives. Collaborate with experienced professionals to foster a culture of safety and contribute significantly to the well-being of our workforce.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) teams and MESH Champions to ensure adherence to both local and corporate safety standards.
  • Facilitate improvements in key EHS programs, including emergency preparedness, equipment safety, hazardous energy control, fall prevention, waste management, and machine safety.
  • Assist in preparing for EHS audits by coaching staff, scheduling activities, and conducting site inspections.
  • Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee in addressing identified hazards effectively.
  • Organize and deliver health and safety training sessions for both production and administrative personnel.
  • Engage in plant 5S+ initiatives, LEAN projects, and weekly EHS-related continuous improvement activities.
  • Conduct monthly inspections of first aid supplies, eyewash stations, safety showers, and spill response kits.
  • Document incidents in the corporate tracking system, ensuring accurate data entry.
  • Maintain both physical and electronic EHS documentation.
  • Assist in the creation and management of health and safety policies, procedures, and records.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace environment.
  • Participate in health and safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Support tracking of training compliance through data entry.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A collaborative team player capable of thriving in a fast-paced setting.
  • Experience in manufacturing is essential.
  • Familiarity with 5S methodologies is required.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student in a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Completed at least one year in a relevant academic program.
