Location: Scarborough

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00A to 4:00P

Contract: 11 Weeks' To Start (with possibility for extension)


Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Health and Safety department, including maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and organizing meetings and training sessions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct data entry and maintain databases, tracking safety incidents, inspections, and training records.
  • Coordinate and schedule health and safety training sessions for employees, ensuring timely completion and documentation.
  • Assist in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
  • Support the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses, assisting in gathering relevant information and preparing incident reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and awareness throughout the organization.
  • Stay updated on health and safety regulations and best practices, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in a health and safety or related field or experience working in a Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
  • Education in Health and Safety or knowledge of health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • Must be able to comply with immunization and vaccination policies as set by the Hospital.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Relevant certifications or training in health and safety are desirable.
