About the Position:

The Workplace Engagement Coordinator will manage the office environment and foster a vibrant workplace where employees feel connected, appreciated, and inspired. This role is pivotal in enhancing Wave's culture, ensuring a positive and unforgettable employee journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and morale, including organizing virtual, in-person, or hybrid events, milestone recognitions, and team-building activities.
  • Oversee the procurement of Wave-branded merchandise and the coordination of onboarding kits for new hires.
  • Create and distribute employee communications regarding events, anniversaries, and various celebrations throughout the year.
  • Ensure the health and safety of the office by conducting monthly inspections and collaborating with the P&C Team to meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a worker representative on the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
  • Ensure timely maintenance and inspection of the office, completing necessary reports related to safety, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors to facilitate the operations of the Collaboration Centre.
  • Utilize employee feedback and suggestions for ongoing enhancements.
  • Support the People & Culture team's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Manager on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects.
  • Promote and sustain a positive workplace culture that aligns with the company's mission, vision, and values.
  • Manage the procurement of office supplies and groceries, ensuring adequate stock levels and arranging mail-outs as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all employees and visitors.
  • Assist the P&C Operations Specialist with orientation and provide backup support as necessary.
  • Maintain First Aid and JHSC certifications.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • At least 3 years of experience in customer-focused roles.
  • Previous experience in event coordination.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy.
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong process orientation.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities and effectively track deadlines, events, and essential information.
  • Initiative-driven.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Experience with JHSC is a plus.
  • First Aid certification is an advantage.
