Job Overview:

As a Health and Safety Specialist at EM Dynamics, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe and healthy work environment. This position offers an opportunity to engage deeply with health and safety initiatives, focusing on risk management, incident analysis, and the enhancement of safety protocols. Collaborate with experienced professionals to cultivate a culture of safety and contribute significantly to the well-being of our workforce.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) teams and plant safety champions to ensure adherence to both local and corporate safety standards.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving essential site EHS programs, including emergency preparedness, equipment safety, hazard communication, waste management, and operational safety.
  • Coordinate efforts to prepare for EHS audits, including training employees and management, scheduling activities, and conducting safety assessments.
  • Support the plant's Health and Safety Committee by addressing identified hazards and implementing corrective actions.
  • Facilitate and deliver comprehensive health and safety training for both production and administrative staff.
  • Engage in 5S+ activities, Lean initiatives, and regular EHS improvement events.
  • Conduct monthly inspections of first aid stations, safety equipment, and emergency response kits.
  • Input incident data into the corporate tracking system for analysis and reporting.
  • Maintain both physical and digital EHS documentation and records.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Support team members in promoting a safe and healthy workplace culture.
  • Participate in health and safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Help maintain accurate health and safety compliance records.
  • Track training compliance through systematic data entry.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A collaborative team player capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing is essential.
  • Experience with 5S methodologies is required.

Educational Background:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student in a recognized post-secondary program.
  • Completed at least one year in a relevant field of study.
