Role Summary: As a key contributor to the IT Risk Function within Global Payments and Core Banking Engineering (PCBE), you will play a vital role in ensuring that individual objectives and initiatives align with the broader business strategies and goals. Your efforts will be crucial in maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster a customer-centric culture to enhance client relationships and leverage the Bank's extensive resources and expertise.
  • Collaborate with various technology teams to plan and execute comprehensive risk assessments, ensuring that effective governance processes are established and that IT risks are proactively managed and mitigated.
  • Evaluate IT processes to design and implement robust risk controls, ensuring their ongoing maintenance and monitoring.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze PCBE's Key IT Risk Indicators, including Security, Availability, Third Party Management, and Software Currency, while working across the organization to address vulnerabilities.
  • Engage with other departments within Scotiabank, such as IT Security, Vulnerability Management, Global Risk Management, Audit, Compliance, and Portfolio Management.
  • Ensure that IT risk assessment analyses and outcomes are documented in enterprise tools, adhering to established policies and standards.
  • Track and manage open issues, collaborating with issue owners to ensure timely resolution.
  • Work alongside Scotiabank's Audit and Compliance teams to address any identified issues.
  • Understand the Bank's risk appetite and culture, integrating these considerations into daily activities and decision-making processes.
  • Strive for operational efficiency in accordance with Scotiabank's Values and Code of Conduct, ensuring the effectiveness of business controls related to operational, compliance, and conduct risk.
  • Promote a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive workplace culture.
  • This role requires strong leadership skills to motivate and influence junior staff and subject matter experts within PCBE and other technology departments.

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in IT Risk Management or IT Audit within the banking sector.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CRISC are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with global banking environments and an understanding of banking business processes.
  • Experience in IT audits or regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of multiple domains, including Security Management, Identity and Access Management, Vulnerability Management, Disaster Recovery, and Software Currency.
  • Ability to navigate complex environments, data, and systems effectively.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration abilities.
  • Proven experience in gathering evidence and interviewing stakeholders, with practical skills in conducting thorough analyses.
  • Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to analyze and document intricate systems.
