Position Overview

The Senior Business Analysis Manager will oversee and direct the delivery of requirements for extensive programs, either financed through Finance or Capital Markets. The Finance & Audit IT department is dedicated to supporting, developing, and maintaining IT applications that cater to the Finance & Audit Teams within the Royal Bank of Canada.

Leadership and Communication Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Portfolio and Project Management to ensure the effective delivery of overall portfolio requirements by coordinating assignments across the Business Analysis team to optimize skill sets and capabilities.
  • Promote the significance of Business Analysis to both Business and Technology stakeholders, fostering a shared understanding of the Business Analyst's role within the organization.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution by clarifying the roles and responsibilities of Business Analysts on various projects and programs.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback to enhance the capabilities of the Business Analysis team.
  • Continuously develop skills and expand knowledge across all organizational aspects and within the business analysis field.

Business Analysis Planning

  • Conduct stakeholder analysis to identify impacted or influential groups.
  • Create plans and accurate estimates for the completion of requirements, consistently improving the detail and accuracy of these estimates.
  • Manage risks, assumptions, and constraints related to requirements, communicating these to relevant parties.
  • Lead the prioritization of requirements and utilize techniques to clarify business priorities.

Requirements Analysis and Documentation

  • Engage with diverse business stakeholder groups to facilitate the discovery, analysis, and review of requirements.
  • Employ key elicitation and advanced facilitation techniques to conduct large workshops effectively.
  • Establish and maintain a repository of reusable requirements documentation to support future initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Business and Solution Architects, as well as Technology teams, to define business needs and explore, assess, and recommend value-added solution options to align with business strategies.
  • Ensure that the team and stakeholders are well-versed in the RBC Requirements Process.
  • Participate in the estimation of requirements efforts at the project portfolio level.
  • Work alongside project management to identify interdependencies among projects.
  • Guarantee the quality of requirement deliverables and estimates.
  • Resolve conflicts and issues related to requirements between projects as escalated by the team.
  • Analyze and document the scope of business solutions using enterprise-standard requirements processes and techniques.
  • Analyze and document detailed business and system solution requirements utilizing enterprise-standard requirements processes and techniques.

Additional Information

This position is a full-time role within the Technology and Operations platform, offering a salaried pay structure.
