About the Role

This is a senior-level position that requires a seasoned business analysis professional to lead and develop a team of business analysts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis, leadership, and management, with a proven track record of success in driving business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership
    • Manage a team of business analysts, providing coaching, guidance, and development opportunities to ensure team members are equipped to deliver high-quality results.
    • Champion a high-performance environment, fostering a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
    • Develop and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, and develops top talent, ensuring the team is equipped to meet business objectives.
  • Business Analysis
    • Drive the continuous improvement and strategy of Tangerine's business analysis capabilities, spanning people, processes, methods, tools, and technologies.
    • Champion a client-focused culture, deepening client relationships and leveraging broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
    • Ensure solutions align with Tangerine's strategic direction, improving operational efficiency, reducing operating risk, and delivering quality service.
  • Initiative Management
    • Act as a partner to the initiative intake process, refining and providing internal consulting to the business around new business case assessment, initiatives for impact and feasibility analysis.
    • Responsible for understanding and complying with the Regulatory Compliance Framework, including the Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Policy and all AML-related policies, procedures, and controls within the department.

Requirements

  • Education/Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of business or operational analysis experience, with at least 3 years in a management-level position.
    • Completion of a post-secondary business/technology/systems or related area degree is required, or equivalent work experience.
    • Previous experience operating in an Agile environment and possessing an Agile mindset is essential.
    • Experience in the financial services industry is preferred, with a strong understanding of banking business applications.
  • Technical Skills
    • Good understanding of banking business applications.
    • Keen interest in new and emerging technologies.
  • Abilities
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
    • Proven ability to influence at the Senior Management level and above.
    • Ability to act as a bridge between various stakeholders to deliver business results.
    • Self-managed professional with the ability to achieve broadly communicated objectives under minimal supervision.
