Position Overview

The Senior Business Analysis Manager will oversee and direct the delivery of requirements for significant programs, whether financed through Finance or Capital Markets. The Finance & Audit IT division is tasked with supporting, developing, and maintaining IT applications that cater to the Finance & Audit Teams within the Royal Bank of Canada.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work collaboratively with Portfolio and Project Management to ensure the successful delivery of portfolio objectives by coordinating assignments across the Business Analysis team, optimizing skill sets and capabilities.
  • Promote the significance of Business Analysis to both Business and Technology stakeholders, fostering a mutual understanding of the BA role within the organization.
  • Facilitate resolution of conflicts by clarifying the roles and responsibilities of Business Analysts on various projects and programs.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback to enhance the skills and capabilities of the Business Analysis team.
  • Continuously develop skills and knowledge across all facets of the organization and within the business analysis field.

Business Analysis Strategy

  • Conduct stakeholder analysis to identify affected or influential groups.
  • Create plans and precise estimates for the completion of requirements, consistently improving the detail and accuracy of these estimates.
  • Manage risks, assumptions, and constraints related to requirements, communicating effectively with relevant parties.
  • Lead the prioritization of requirements and utilize techniques to clarify business priorities.

Requirements Analysis and Documentation

  • Engage with diverse business stakeholder groups to facilitate the discovery, analysis, and review of requirements.
  • Utilize advanced elicitation and facilitation techniques to conduct extensive workshops.
  • Establish and maintain a repository of reusable requirements documentation to support future projects.
  • Collaborate with Business and Solution Architects, as well as Technology teams, to define business needs and evaluate potential solution options that align with business strategies.
  • Ensure that the team and stakeholders are well-versed in the RBC Requirements Process.
  • Participate in estimating requirements efforts at the project portfolio level.
  • Work alongside project management to identify interdependencies among projects.
  • Guarantee the quality of requirement deliverables and their associated estimates.
  • Address and resolve conflicts and issues related to requirements between projects as escalated by the team.
  • Analyze and document the scope of business solutions using enterprise-standard requirements processes and techniques.
  • Analyze and document detailed business and system solution requirements following enterprise-standard practices.

Additional Information

This position is a full-time role within the Technology and Operations platform, classified as a regular salaried position.
