Position Overview

Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Senior Project Coordinator

The Senior Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing all facets of assigned initiatives within designated programs/services across the organization. This role is essential in ensuring the successful execution of projects that enhance community health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Guarantee that project outcomes are achieved within the established timeline and budget, as outlined in the project framework. Direct and facilitate project operations, including financial oversight and resource management to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. Collaborate with stakeholders at various levels, motivating teams to reach objectives through effective communication and fostering a culture that promotes individual growth. Assemble project teams and provide leadership, direction, and support to project personnel. Projects may encompass process enhancements, productivity assessments, and strategic information dissemination. Collect insights and recommendations that significantly impact financial and human resources. Engage with all staff levels to build consensus, consult, negotiate, and disseminate information. Coordinate with external consultants, vendors, and healthcare organizations to negotiate service contracts and procurement of necessary resources.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

A Master's Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or a related healthcare field. A minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of relevant experience, including hospital financial management, large-scale project oversight, and facilitating stakeholder consultations. Current registration with the relevant professional College/Association, if applicable. Exceptional communication skills to operate effectively within a complex interdisciplinary environment, including the ability to engage with medical professionals. Proficiency in various software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, project management, and databases.

Knowledge & Skills

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of project management principles and methodologies, with the ability to mentor team members in these areas. Applies sound business judgment to manage the financial resources of assigned projects/services in alignment with the organization's overall objectives. Exhibits initiative, vision, independent thought, and innovative problem-solving skills to execute project plans and achieve successful outcomes. Maintains a comprehensive understanding of patient care delivery systems across various healthcare settings. Possesses a deep knowledge of available resources for projects and relevant stakeholder groups, providing constructive feedback and detailed analysis on project processes. Utilizes effective negotiation, facilitation, and persuasion skills to reach consensus, resolve conflicts, and achieve desired results. Operates efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and address challenges promptly. Capable of performing the physical demands of the position.
