Position: Parts Sales Specialist

Elevate your career in the parts industry at our esteemed organization. In this role, you will be responsible for providing quality used parts to external clients while addressing internal requests from our skilled Body Repair & Paint Technicians. Your expertise will be crucial in recommending additional components necessary for repair orders, managing cores and warranty parts for credit, providing price quotes, and sourcing parts via telephone communications.

WORKING HOURS:

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the Karmak computer system to manage parts inventory
  • Verify repair orders for parts accuracy prior to final billing
  • Enhance sales and minimize obsolete inventory by suggesting parts, promoting products, and advising clients on product usage
  • Maintain organized shelves and report stock levels to the Parts Manager
  • Participate in annual inventory counts and related preparation tasks
  • Source parts for select clientele by contacting suppliers and competitors
  • Seek technical insights regarding both new and existing products
  • Order merchandise within designated limits
  • Facilitate parts sales to external customers, fostering relationships by accurately identifying required parts, processing orders, generating invoices, billing freight, and collecting payments
  • Provide necessary parts to Technicians and recommend additional components for repairs
  • Assist outside Parts Sales Representatives with their orders and identify potential new customers

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in parts counter sales
  • Familiarity with heavy-duty truck and trailer components is preferred
  • Previous experience in parts sourcing or purchasing is advantageous
  • Experience with MPI claims is a plus
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License is required
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to cultivate relationships
  • Capability to promote products effectively to customers
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Basic computer skills including data entry and internet navigation
  • Willingness to learn the in-house billing system
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Team-oriented with a proactive and eager-to-learn attitude
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Mechanical aptitude is an asset
