Join Our Team as a Parts Sales Specialist

Advance your career in our dynamic Parts Department. In this role, you will be responsible for selling pre-owned parts to external clients while also addressing internal requests from our skilled Body Repair & Paint Technicians. Your expertise will help in recommending additional components necessary for repair orders, managing cores and warranty parts for credit, providing price quotes, and sourcing parts through phone inquiries.

WORKING HOURS:

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the Karmak computer system to manage parts postings.
  • Ensure accuracy of parts on repair orders prior to final billing.
  • Enhance sales and minimize obsolete inventory by suggesting parts, upselling products, and advising customers on product applications.
  • Maintain stock levels and report to the Parts Manager.
  • Participate in annual inventory counts and assist with preparation tasks.
  • Source parts for specific customers by contacting suppliers and competitors.
  • Seek technical information about new and existing products.
  • Order merchandise within set limits.
  • Sell parts to customers, building strong relationships by accurately identifying needs, processing orders, creating invoices, managing freight billing, and collecting payments.
  • Provide requested parts to Technicians and recommend additional components for repairs.
  • Assist outside Parts Sales Representatives with orders and identify potential customers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in parts counter sales.
  • Familiarity with heavy-duty truck and trailer components is preferred.
  • Experience in parts sourcing or purchasing is advantageous.
  • Experience with MPI claims is a plus.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to foster relationships.
  • Capability to upsell products effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills including data entry and internet navigation.
  • Willingness to learn the in-house billing system.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Organized, able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive attitude.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Mechanical aptitude is beneficial.
