As a Governance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Corporate Secretariat with all aspects related to the Corporation's Board of Directors and its Committees. Your responsibilities will encompass the following:


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the regular activities of the Corporate Secretariat;
  • Collaborate with the Director of Governance and the Board Administrator to develop and coordinate Board and Committee agendas, work plans, and action lists;
  • Oversee the distribution of reports for Board meetings in partnership with the Board Administrator;
  • Serve as the recording secretary for all Board and Committee meetings, ensuring accurate and timely minutes are produced;
  • Coordinate the Directors' Training Program, including orientation for new Directors and ongoing training initiatives;
  • Support governance and effectiveness initiatives for the Board;
  • Monitor corporate policy review cycles and coordinate updates with relevant business units;
  • Assist in preparing responses to inquiries from the Board of Directors and other stakeholders;
  • Engage in discussions with internal and external stakeholders regarding governance matters;
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Board and Committee Charters, Corporate By-law, and relevant policies;
  • Foster positive relationships with Board members, business partners, and colleagues;
  • Contribute to the overall administration of the Corporate Secretariat.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work and is driven to make a meaningful impact. You should possess strong communication and collaboration skills, along with a commitment to integrity.


Required Skills
  • A degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 2 years' experience supporting a corporate secretary or providing board assistance;
  • At least 3 years' experience in the financial sector or federal public service/Crown corporations;
  • Thorough understanding of federal Crown corporation requirements;
  • Extensive administrative experience, particularly in minute-taking;
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and sound judgment;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively;
  • Effective communication skills in both English and French;
  • Excellent time management and critical thinking abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Law degree or paralegal certification;
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors;
  • Project management skills.

Language Requirements

Bilingual Imperative: Level (BBB/BBB)

Security Clearance

Eligibility to obtain a Secret-level security clearance.
