Role Responsibilities

As a Governance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Corporate Secretariat with various responsibilities related to the Board of Directors and its Committees. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation and coordination of Board and Committee agendas, meeting minutes, and action plans;
  • Facilitating the distribution of reports for Board meetings;
  • Coordinating the onboarding, training, and offboarding processes for Directors;
  • Managing logistics for Board and Committee meetings;
  • Overseeing the corporate policy review process;
  • Providing general support to the Corporate Secretariat team as required.

The Governance Analyst will collaborate closely with the Board Administrator to ensure the effective planning and execution of all Board and Committee meetings. This position requires regular interaction with the Board of Directors, senior management, and governance team members from other federal entities.


Key Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 2 years' experience in corporate governance support;
  • At least 3 years' experience in the financial sector or federal public service;
  • In-depth knowledge of federal Crown corporation requirements;
  • Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in minute-taking;
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and sound judgment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset;
  • Proficiency in both English and French, with strong communication skills;
  • Excellent time management and critical thinking abilities.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • A law degree or paralegal certification;
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors;
  • Project management skills.

Language Requirements: Bilingual Imperative: Level (BBB/BBB)

Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain a Secret-level security clearance.
