Role Overview: This position is pivotal in the development, oversight, and execution of a comprehensive liquidity and funding management framework within Corporate Treasury. The goal is to optimize risk and enhance risk-adjusted profitability for the Bank.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on the assessment, analysis, and management of the Bank's global regulatory and internal funding risks stemming from Trading and Capital Markets activities.
  • Collaborate with assigned business units to cultivate a deep understanding of their strategies, products, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements across all wholesale and trading products.
  • Advise on strategies for mitigating liquidity and funding risks, as well as product innovation and optimization.
  • Contribute to the formulation of the Bank's risk measurement and reporting processes related to liquidity and funding management.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, offering strategic insights to senior leadership on business decisions and new initiatives.
  • Network with industry peers to gather competitive intelligence and best practices.
  • Lead the execution of liquidity and funding-related strategic initiatives to achieve business and financial objectives.
  • Analyze issues and recommend liquidity and funding solutions tailored to the business's needs.
  • Support the development and execution of the enterprise's liquidity and funding risk management strategy in collaboration with Market Risk Management.
  • Establish processes to identify, measure, and manage liquidity and funding risks for Trading Products and Wholesale Businesses.
  • Serve as a key resource for Trading Products and Capital Markets stakeholders on liquidity and funding issues, including funds transfer pricing and stress testing.
  • Maintain and enhance the model and assumptions framework used for measuring liquidity and funding risk.
  • Identify emerging trends and issues to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Provide insights into business product pricing and funds transfer pricing through data analysis.
  • Facilitate collaboration among various stakeholders to align agendas and advocate for the Bank's position on market developments.
  • Monitor liquidity stress test performance and address any arising issues.
  • Contribute to liquidity and funding programs, including annual planning and risk modeling.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate information across capital, liquidity, and market risk for improved analysis and reporting.
  • Utilize expertise to creatively address complex situations and develop effective solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of trading products, wholesale funding, derivatives, and associated liquidity risks.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven influence and collaboration skills.
  • Adept at managing ambiguity and making data-driven decisions.
  • Familiarity with intraday liquidity and experience in Risk or Capital Markets is advantageous.
