Position: Sr Manager, Liquidity and Funding - Trading Products

Employment Type:
Full-time

Department:
Finance & Accounting

This role is pivotal in establishing, overseeing, and executing a comprehensive liquidity and funding management framework within Corporate Treasury, aimed at optimizing risks while maximizing risk-adjusted profitability for the Bank.

The position requires expertise in measuring, analyzing, and supervising the Bank's global regulatory and internal funding risks that stem from Trading and Capital Markets operations.

Collaborating closely with the designated business/portfolio, the role demands a thorough understanding of business strategies, alongside extensive product, market, and regulatory knowledge across all wholesale and trading products.

Responsibilities include advising on liquidity and funding risk mitigation, product innovation, and optimization. The role also supports the enhancement of the Bank's risk measurement and reporting processes related to liquidity and funding management.

The individual will provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership on new initiatives, grounded in a comprehensive understanding of the business and product developments.

Acting as a subject matter expert, the role entails navigating relevant regulations and policies while networking with industry contacts to acquire competitive insights and best practices.

The position also involves aiding in the formulation and execution of the Enterprise's liquidity and funding risk management strategy, seeking executive and Board approval in collaboration with Market Risk Management to establish liquidity and funding-related risk appetite and limits.

Developing processes to identify, measure, and manage liquidity and funding risks for Trading Products and Wholesale Businesses is essential, in conjunction with Market Risk Management, Global Markets, and Finance.

The individual will serve as a trusted advisor to Trading Products and Capital Markets stakeholders on liquidity and funding issues, including funds transfer pricing, stress testing, and recovery and resolution planning.

The role includes maintaining the model and assumption framework for measuring liquidity and funding risk, regularly reviewing liquidity objectives, positions, and assumptions, particularly for new Trading Products and Capital Market initiatives.

Identifying emerging issues and trends will inform decision-making and enhance understanding of risk drivers.

Recommendations and implementations of solutions based on risk assessments and analysis of issues will be a critical part of the role.

Assisting senior management in aligning agendas among various stakeholders, including industry specialty groups and regulators, is vital to advocate the Bank's position on market or regulatory developments.

Monitoring the performance of liquidity stress tests and addressing any arising issues is essential, including enterprise-wide stress testing and ad-hoc testing.

Input into liquidity and funding programs such as annual planning, risk modeling, and stress testing will be required.

The role will also involve identifying opportunities to integrate information from multiple streams (capital, liquidity, and market risk) to enhance analysis and reporting.

Analyzing data to provide insights into business product pricing and funds transfer pricing processes is expected.

Operating at a group/enterprise-wide level, the individual will serve as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

A solid understanding of trading products, including trading strategies, wholesale funding, derivatives, and associated liquidity risks on a Trading Balance Sheet, is essential.

Data-driven decision-making skills are crucial, with an in-depth or expert level of knowledge expected.

Familiarity with intraday liquidity and/or prior experience in Risk or Capital Markets is advantageous.

The total compensation package may vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and additional perks and rewards.

Health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans are also offered. Accommodations are available upon request for candidates participating in all aspects of the selection process.
