Senior Manager, Liquidity and Funding Strategy

The Bank of Montreal is seeking a seasoned professional to oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive liquidity and funding management framework within Corporate Treasury. This role is pivotal in optimizing risk exposure while maximizing risk-adjusted profitability for the institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on the assessment, analysis, and management of the Bank's global regulatory and internal funding risks associated with Trading and Capital Markets activities.
- Collaborate with business units to gain a thorough understanding of strategic objectives and detailed product, market, and regulatory landscapes across all wholesale and trading offerings.
- Advise on strategies for mitigating liquidity and funding risks, including product innovation and optimization.
- Support the formulation of risk measurement and reporting processes essential for effective liquidity and funding management.
- Act as a trusted advisor, offering strategic insights to senior leadership regarding business decisions and new initiatives.
- Lead the execution of liquidity and funding-related strategic projects, ensuring alignment with business and financial objectives.
- Conduct thorough analyses to recommend and implement effective liquidity and funding solutions.
- Develop processes for identifying, measuring, and managing liquidity and funding risks, working closely with Market Risk Management and Finance teams.
- Monitor the performance of liquidity stress tests and address any arising issues.
- Provide input into liquidity and funding programs, including annual planning and risk modeling.
- Analyze data to derive insights that inform product pricing and funding strategies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with a degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of trading products, including trading strategies and associated liquidity risks.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
- Data-driven decision-making expertise.
- Knowledge of intraday liquidity is advantageous.
